"By putting one handle in a bowl of water and holding the other in your hand, you can take an electric foot bath..."
Shock your senses and amplify the eerie allure of Victorian medicine with this 1887 model of Williams' Dial Electro-Magnetic Machine, now available at Phantasmagoria.
This fascinating quack medical device, once touted as a remedy for various organic and nervous diseases by the P.G. Williams Company of New York, generated small electrical currents to bring relief to patients. Remarkably preserved, it includes all original wires, switches, electrodes, and handles, making it a rare and beautiful addition to any oddities collection. The battery dial still turns when adjusted, however, the battery itself has long been depleted. The original instruction sticker is still inside of the lid and makes for a fascinating read!
The outside case has some minor cosmetic scuffs and marks, which are expected for its age.
Bring this incredibly rare find into your oddities cabinet today. It would look great displayed open on a shelf or as a conversation piece in any room!
